Strong, safe, fast – the new POWER CURTAIN
September 2018 – The logistics sector demands short loading times to increase turnaround speed and thus efficiency. This often means that every minute counts for the driver. The S.CS curtainsider semi-trailer with the Schmitz Cargobull POWER CURTAIN fulfils this requirement. The certified structural rigidity according to DIN EN 12642 Code XL is achieved without support laths thanks to aramid belts and steel wire integrated into the tarpaulin. The advantage of this lies in quicker loading and unloading without time-consuming handling to secure the load. This enables the driver to continue their run more rapidly and further optimise the transport process.
The new POWER CURTAIN
The newly designed tarpaulin is so stable that, in the case of interlocking loading, no further equipment is needed for lateral load securing. For the driver this means that as well as shorter loading and unloading times, work safety also increases, as they no longer need to deal with laths. Furthermore, the high-strength side tarpaulin offers effective theft protection by preventing intentional cutting, and an unladen weight advantage over conventional curtainsiders, as the supporting laths can be omitted while the certification remains unchanged.
Nevertheless, the S.CS with POWER CURTAIN has the important Code XL and beverage and Daimler certificates, which ensure versatile use of the curtainsider. Anyone who wants to secure the goods at the rear can use the load-securing loops in the tarpaulin. When pulled through the loops, the lashing straps develop blocking forces per row of 2,500 daN.
