Robustness meets aerodynamics

Robustness meets aerodynamics

The Schmitz Cargobull S.CS X-TOUGH curtainsider semi-trailer with a robust chassis for 44 tonnes and more is now also available with an aerodynamic EcoFIX body

June 2024 – The robust S.CS X-TOUGH curtainsider semi-trailer has been specifically developed for countries with a 44-t total weight limit, and blends in perfectly with the rest of Schmitz Cargobull’s chassis range with its galvanised and bolted chassis. The X-TOUGH chassis is designed for heavy duty market requirements and impresses with its high bending and torsional strength. Cross beam spacings of less than 400 mm in the chassis structure make the vehicle exceptionally robust and resilient. The floor is made of 30 mm plywood and is specifically designed to handle high frequency loading and unloading with high forklift axle loads.

New: aerodynamic EcoFIX body

Amid high fuel prices and the need to reduce carbon emissions, transport and logistics companies require practical solutions that help them to reduce consumption in their fleets and decrease their environmental footprint. With the aerodynamic EcoFIX body, a variant from the EcoGeneration, Schmitz Cargobull offers an innovative and sustainable trailer concept, which is both kind to the environment and reduces costs for the transport sector.

The EcoFIX body is the ideal solution for transporting horizontal, flat and heavy goods, such as steel rolls. Featuring a fixed aerodynamic rear, the vehicle offers both an overall front height of four metres and a fuel-saving alternative thanks to its aerodynamic design. The body is combined with the lath-free POWER CURTAIN. This is certified to DIN EN 12642 Code XL, Daimler certification guideline 9.5 and also has the beverage certificate. The tarpaulin loops integrated into the POWER CURTAIN tarpaulin offer flexible load securing options together as well as easy handling.

The height-adjustable EcoFLEX and EcoVARIOS aerodynamic superstructure variants offer greater flexibility and also enable high-volume transport.

The modular chassis design facilitates simple spare parts procurement and vastly simplifies repairs. The galvanisation makes the chassis corrosion-resistant and offers optimum protection against rust-through. Schmitz Cargobull provides a ten-year warranty against rust-through on all galvanised parts in the chassis.

Even more fuel savings

New: EcoPack – Aerodynamic storage box for even greater fuel savings

The new optional EcoPack aerodynamic storage box is currently exclusively available from Schmitz Cargobull and can also be equipped on the S.CS X-TOUGH. The box offers plenty of storage space for spare wheels and load securing materials, for example, and contributes to further fuel savings with its specially optimised aerodynamic design. As well as the aerodynamic benefits, the EcoPack also impresses with its low unladen weight and quick, easy handling. The optional Schmitz Cargobull INOX BOX also serves as a suitable solution for both a food box and as a box for load securing equipment.

The rear package featuring compressible rear roller bumpers protects the rear portal and the head frame against damage when loading at the loading ramp. The rubber bumpers fitted behind the rollers absorb the energy and protect the vehicle body when approaching the ramp.

A reversing camera and LED interior lighting ensure greater work safety.
