Currently 240 active Schmitz Cargobull units in use
Under the umbrella of WP Holding GmbH, based in Zwickau, six integrated companies operate at six locations, each of which has many years of experience in its own business area. With over 1,000 employees and 130,000 square meters of warehouse space, WP Holding is one of the largest and most important transport companies in Saxony. The fleet includes 400 tractor units and 550 semi-trailers, as well as several trailers, Sprinter vans and cars.
"We currently have 240 active units from Schmitz Cargobull," reports Managing Director Doreen Paesold-Runge. These are used to handle orders for customers throughout Europe. In addition to the pure transport business, the Zwickau-based company's areas of expertise include logistics, service, recycling and production.
The towed units are as diverse as the areas of application. In addition to the standard curtainsider semi-trailer with sliding roof and partially foldable tail lift, there are also mega curtainsider semi-trailers with sliding roof and lifting roof. The latter are mainly used in the automotive industry. WP sends refrigerated semi-trailers without refrigeration units with double-decker beams on groupage lines and for wheel transport. Overnight express deliveries to car dealerships are carried out with 2-axle box semi-trailers with steering and lift axles and upright tail lifts. Swap bodies are used for national and international long-distance transport, swap bodies for overnight express and waste disposal transportation.
There are many arguments in favour of Schmitz Cargobull's towed units. "We are satisfied with the quality, especially with the durability of the components, the galvanised frame, the support and the ease of repair," says Paesold-Runge.
