Sustainable lightweight - 80 lightweight CEP semi-trailers for Yodel
80 lightweight CEP semi-trailers for Yodel
The British parcel courier Yodel is investing in sustainability. A fleet of 80 particularly lightweight S.BO PACE CEP semi-trailers offers a high payload and will save fuel and CO2 during operation in future.
The investment is part of the company's sustainability endeavours. The new and particularly lightweight vehicles should reduce annual fuel costs and save 1,464 kilograms of CO2 per trailer.
“We were hugely impressed with the scale of the potential savings presented by the UK team at Schmitz Cargobull, which align closely with the sustainability goals of our business. Yodel has already made great strides in reducing our climate impact and this marks another step in our sustainability journey,” said Pasqualino Vaccarella, Regional Compliance Manager at Yodel.
The S.BO PACE was specially developed for the requirements of the CEP industry and, thanks to its STRUKTOPLAST panels, saves up to 700 kilograms in weight compared to conventional dry freight cases. The panels are made of polypropylene and are lightweight yet robust thanks to their honeycomb structure core. At Yodel, the vehicles are in use in England, Scotland and Wales. They travel to all service centres and the company's three national sorting hubs. In total, Yodel delivers more than 190 million consignments every year.
