FERROPLAST® semi-trailer insulation - strong and efficient
Market-leading FERROPLAST® thermal technology is the basis of our refrigerated box bodies. No moisture penetrates through the body's vapour diffusion-tight metal surface layers, keeping the payload safe and maintaining the efficiency of the insulation.
FERROPLAST® vehicle insulation properties
-
Corrosion resistance:Chemical and physical protection through the cathode effect with galvanised steel finishes.Read more
-
Thermal capacity:Steel surface layers have considerably lower heat storage capacity than GRP. The semi-trailer's interior requires less time and energy to cool down.Read more
-
Thermal expansion:Steel extends around 50% less than aluminium and around 70% less than GRP. Thermal expansion is fully absorbed by the folding seams, resulting in zero deformation.Read more
-
Penetration resistance:20 mm diameter balls collide at forces of up to 300 N without causing any lasting deformation.*Read more
-
Tensile strength:320 N/mm² (StE 320).*Read more
-
Vapour diffusion resistance:The metal cover layers are vapour diffusion-tight. No loss of insulation and no damage to the payload from moisture absorption into the foam core.Read more
-
Insulating core:The large formed core forms a total bond with the surface layers with a foam raw density of approx. 55-95 kg/m³.Read more
-
Compression strength:10% compression at a pressure load of 50 t/m².*

Chemical / biological behaviour:Resistant to common chemicals, as well as fungi and microbes, odour-neutral, resistant to rot and decay, physiologically harmless and certified food-safe.Read more
