“Delivering Performance”

Schmitz Cargobull presents its latest product and service highlights for IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024

September 2024 – Under the motto “Delivering Performance”, Schmitz Cargobull is showcasing sustainable, efficient and practical transport solutions at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024. These products are designed to help customers sustainably increase and protect their economic efficiency in light of the energy transition and digital transformation. For a number of years, Schmitz Cargobull has been investing in the durability and value retention of its trailers by using galvanisation, for example. Since 2018, its trailers have been equipped with telematics technology as standard for seamless connectivity. As such, each trailer operator is in a position to bring transparency to the supply chain and tap into the potential of digitalisation.

At IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024, countless innovations will be on show to help customers increase the performance of their fleet and optimise their total running costs.

The new S.CU transport cooling unit S.CU dc85 needs up to 5 percent less fuel, is extremely reliable, even at high exterior temperatures, and needs 1.5 kg less refrigerant than its predecessor. Another new development is the diesel-powered transport cooling unit S.CU d80 ePTOready, which comes equipped with an electric secondary drive ePTO (Electric Power Take Off). By offering this electric secondary drive, Schmitz Cargobull is the first trailer manufacturer to give customers the opportunity to run a diesel-powered cooling unit on electrical power when using an electric semi-trailer tractor unit for cost-efficient and emission-free operation. The S.CU d80 ePTOready guarantees maximum flexibility and economic efficiency in mixed fleets, regardless of the tractor unit’s drive system and manufacturer.

In the field of refrigerated trailers, the market leader is presenting both tried-and-tested and new vehicle concepts with new energy management for emission-free or standard transport.

A new addition is the agile and all-electric refrigerated semi-trailer, the S.KOe CITY, which has been designed especially for flexible use in city logistics. The shortest variant is just 11 m long, which offers the perfect combination of compact size and practical load capacity.

With its optimised chassis and new MRH 4 pneumatic suspension system, the new, high-volume S.CS MEGA trailer – which is suitable for rail loading and, therefore, intermodal transport – offers increased payload, high flexibility and the robustness required for use on the road, rail and ferry.

On show in Germany for the first time is the S.CS X-TOUGH curtainsider semi-trailer with a standard floor capacity of 9.5 t. It impresses with its high bending and torsional strength and has been developed especially for countries which operate a total weight of 44 t and more.

When it comes to services, Schmitz Cargobull, a leading provider of technology, has a few new digital solutions up its sleeve. These include, for example, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) with “auto-location”, which enables the Schmitz Cargobull sensors to be automatically detected and assigned to the corresponding wheel position.

With its innovative TrailerConnect® Load Carrier Tracking service, Schmitz Cargobull has become the first OEM to enable load carriers and loading equipment to be monitored in real time during transport. The solution is fully integrated into the TrailerConnect® system directly from the factory and minimises the loss and theft of load carriers or loading equipment. With comprehensive complete solutions from a single supplier, Schmitz Cargobull offers its customers product and service solutions for a high level of transport security and efficiency plus maximum vehicle availability and operating time.
