A high payload and sustainability for CEP transport with the S.BO PACE dry freight semi-trailer

New: aerodynamic EcoFIX box body

New: lightweight and ergonomic Schmitz Cargobull roller shutter

New: tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) with auto-location

September 2024 – In an effort to make vehicles for the courier, express and parcel sector even more economically efficient and sustainable, Schmitz Cargobull is now offering its lightweight dry freight semi-trailer, the S.BO PACE, with an aerodynamic EcoFIX box body.

Back at the end of 2021, Schmitz Cargobull presented the S.BO PACE for dry freight and CEP transport operations from the British plant, in Manchester, for Great Britain and Ireland. Featuring a fully modular design, the dry freight semi-trailer is equipped as standard with TrailerConnect® telematics system. The box body is made from innovative and sturdy STRUKTOPLAST® panels. Thanks to the light, honeycomb-shaped panels, each S.BO PACE trailer weighs around 700 kg less than comparable vehicles in this segment. The lightweight body increases the payload and reduces both fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

With the EcoFIX box bodies, an aerodynamic body variant is now available. The aerodynamic shape reduces wind resistance, which results in additional reduction of carbon emissions and savings of up to 3.5% on fuel consumption.

The S.BO PACE is now also available with a light, ergonomically refined roller shutter. This XL-certified Schmitz Cargobull roller shutter complies with EN-12642 (27-tonne payload) and is currently the lightest roller shutter on the market to ensure optimised and efficient handling during loading and unloading. The Heavy Duty rear package with rear roller bumpers made from Delta steel increases the body’s protection when driving onto loading ramps.

To protect the wooden floor, an additional 800 mm steel wear plate is mounted on the last floor plate. This makes the frequent loading and unloading processes required during distribution or hub-to-hub transport even easier.

The S.BO PACE can be equipped with a number of components for load securing, such as package safety tarpaulins, lashing belts, etc. The floor load capacity is 5.4 t as standard or there is the option to increase it to 7.1 t or 8.0 t for transporting heavier loads.

Schmitz Cargobull’s standard TrailerConnect® telematics system delivers intelligent connectivity and supports swift diagnostics and the rapid processing of data collected from all components.

Auto-location: automatic assignment of the correct tyre position

With the help of the auto-location function, Schmitz Cargobull TPMS sensors* can be automatically detected and assigned to the relevant wheel position. As a result, the complicated and error-prone training and assignment process is no longer needed. This saves time and money, both for customers and in the workshop. After a spontaneous tyre change or a trip to the workshop, autolocation offers maximum safety and transparency straight away. Via the TrailerConnect® portal, the status of the tyres and the entire trailer can be easily and conveniently monitored in real time. In the event of abnormalities, alarm messages are issued by e-mail, SMS or app notifications. (See also press release 2024-154)

Lighting

The improved interior LED lighting delivers even greater occupational safety when loading and unloading. On the exterior, marker lights with three functions help to enhance visibility on the road.

*The TrailerConnect® TPMS is also technically compatible with the majority of sensors available on the market (in the EU). Only the original Schmitz Cargobull sensors are compliant with UN ECE R 141 for the TPMS including auto-location function.
